Story Land 2009

Balloon ride and roller coaster. We went on the roller coaster so many times. The girls kept on asking to do it again. There were no lines, no wait most times.

Sofia has been really enjoying the water this summer. She played in the kids pool, Alessandra set by the pool with daddy to finish her ice cream. The hotel had a great program for kids, craft, games, ice cream social, and a brand new playground, etc.


Alessandra was determined to get thru the monkey bar. After lots of tries, she made it to 3 or 4 bars. Pretty strong for a 3 year old!


The girls have been sleeping in separate rooms since they were 2 months old. During the trip they slept in the same bed together. They were so tired, they slept right away.



The weather was beautiful the whole time we were there. Right before we left it started to rain, thundering and lightning. So we got free tickets to come back again!

Story Land - Videos

The hotel had a fabulous program for kids. The girls had a great time. Alessandra really enjoyed their brand new playground, while Sofia loved the kiddie pool, which is only 2 feet on the deep end, so we let them go in and out as they pleased.

Story Land - Planning and Packing

We have been planning and talking about going to Story Land for a few weeks. The day before our trip, the girls talked about our plan all day long in school.
The night before both of them helped me pack their stuff. I told them we were going to stay at the hotel.
Alessandra: “Mama, what is a HOTEL?” (Last time they were in a hotel was last summer and they did not remember. I explained it is a place with lots of bedrooms and that is where we’re going to sleep when we go to Story Land.)
Alessandra and Sofia’s eyes were really big and I can see the concern in their faces because of the announcement about the change in our routine. I explained: “We will all sleep in the same room together while we are on vacation.”
Alessandra: “Mama, is there a kitchen at the hotel? How are we going to eat?” (I explained to them there is a restaurant at the hotel.)
Alessandra: “Is there a bathroom at the hotel?”
Sofia: “Mama, is there a potty at Story Land?”
This conversation was pretty funny. They were very curious and listen very carefully to every explanation. Sofia asked and wanted me to confirm various times that we were not going to school the next day and that when the sun came out we were going to Story land. They picked out and packed books, toys and blankets for the ride and hotel. Very exciting night. The next morning they were up by 5AM.

Father's Day in Pre-K

School had a special father's day breakfast. They had fruits and donuts.
I asked the girls: "What's a donut?"
Alessandra: "Something to eat that you buy at Old McDonald had a farm"
I asked: "What shape is a donut?"
Alessandra: "Square"
This was the first time they had a donut. I think they had fun eating, but have not talked about since then or asked for it.

First Day of Pre-K

Sofia and Alessandra moved up from pre school to pre-K. They were very excited for this day to come. My little girls are growing up!

Last Week of Preschool

Every day on the last week of preschool, there was something fun planned out. Favorite color day, pajama day, favorite team, teddy bear picnic day, and crazy hair day. The girls had lots of fun and will always have great memories of their pre school year with Miss Heidi and Miss Cheryl.

Angel Talk

Sofia likes to draw and tell stories. Alessandra likes to be told stories and loves to ask questions. Right before bed we say the goodnight prayer, which says: "... may angels guide me through the night...". One day Alessandra calls me back in her bedroom and in the dark she asked me: "Mama, where are the angels?"
I didn't want scare her or give her a complicated answer: "They are outside protecting our home"
She pays attention to every word I say and replies: "ahhhhh, I know! They are protecting our house so we don't lose power!" She is referring to the time around Christmas when we lost power for days.
In a different occasion she asked me: "Mama, how come I don't see the angels?"
I told her they were in her thoughts and in her heart.
She replies: "Mama, what is a thought?... Mama, what is in your thought and in your heart?"

Spring 2009

This spring was very busy. We enjoyed every sunny Saturday and Sunday and played outside every chance possible. We had play dates or birthday parties every weekend. The girls love having their friends over. They are so young and yet already talk about having bestfriends.

Our New Tree

Alessandra is very into recycling and planning lately. She keeps talking about planting seeds and watering the plants. We have spent a lot of time outside playing with water and dirt and helping daddy with the landscaping.

Playing Soccer

Sofia did soccer in the spring (March, April, May) on Thursday 5PM at Forekicks in Marlboro. Sofia had a great time. We saw a competitive young lady in Sofia during soccer. Alessandra decided she wasn't going to play soccers and we didn't want to force her. Later in the season, she told me: "Mama, when I turn 4, I want to play soccer, ok?" I wish I had taken more picutres. :-(

Back at Davis Farmland - 2009

First visit to Davis Farmland this year. The girls remembered Davis from last year. They have a great time every time we come. This year they enjoyed the race track, which this is the first year they were able to do so. This time all I had to bring was a bag. No strollers, no wagon, no diapers... This is great!

Happy Easter

In preparation for Easter we boiled some eggs for the kids to decorate. We had Ella and Ava over to share in the fun. We ended up with a bunch of cracked eggs, 3 year old little fingers aren't yet so careful! The kids had a good time and maybe next year a few eggs will survive :-)


We went to Nana for Easter. She rides a tone of eggs in her back yard for the kids to find. The kids loved the game. Once they realized there was candy involved, they were even happier.
