Pokewouke
Alessandra has had an imaginary friend for about an year. Every now and then when she gets in trouble, she would say it was Poukewouke. I have not heard about Poukewouke in a while until this morning when she told me he went out last night and found a new family and he is really happy. She said that with the new family he is going to learn to behave better and make good choices. She says she will miss him and hope he will come back to teach her the good things he learned.

Week 3 School Update
3rd week – Alessandra gives me updates on the tumble truck club. She says that some days the club is closed. She also says that other girls are singing up for the club. I am not sure if the other kids know about this club or if this is all in Alessandra’s imagination.
The girls love all of the extra activity: gym, computers, library, Spanish, playing outside, etc… As well as show and tell and the new thing of the week “Me Bag”. The girls told me that the teachers had their own “Me Bag” and each kid will have a turn with the “Me Bag” where they put non toys in the bag to show the class.
We have turned the upstairs playroom into a homework station. They spend time in their homework desk colloring and doing their homework. The school follows the "The land of the letter people". Last week they learned about Mr M and this week it was about Mrs T with tall teeth. They love to tell me about the activities in school
I drop them off in the classroom. Some mom’s drop the kids off for the volenteers to bring the kids inside. Alessandra says this week: “Mom, some kids gets dropped off and come inside by themselves… can we get dropped off too?” Both of the girls think it is very cool to get dropped off. Can you believe I am already getting this at 5 years old?
I have been selected to be one of the Homeroom mom, as well as for lunch helper. In a few weeks we will be starting Girls Scout, I am getting trained so I can lead a troop of Daisies.

KidFest 2010 - Wachusett
This is our 2nd year at KidFest. Lots to do and see. The kids love the magic show and the gymnastics and dance presentations. Very long and fun day. Daddy came with us too, just didn't make it in the picture.

School Started
Started School
Alessandra and Sofia started full day Transitional Kindergarten on Monday 9/13 (after a week of a couple of hours a day). They are having a lot of fun in school. It is a full class, there are 22 kids, ½ girls and ½ boys. In the beginning of the class they say the Pledge Allegiance and Our Father. Before meal they say grace. On Monday’s they had gym and Spanish. They told me the story they learned about Adam, Eve and the snake who offered the apple and how God said the snakes would not have legs. At school in the morning the kids have the jobs of putting their lunch boxes and snacks bag in the appropriate location as well as finding the start with their names and placing it on the board. The girls were so excited to do their jobs and wanted to make sure that I did not do it for them.
Monday evening Alessandra says she has a club called “Tumbling Trucks” with Lily, Hannah and Sofia. They have a secret hide out and daily missions which she leads. The mission on Monday was to spy from the boys and on Tuesday would be to spy on the birds. Tuesday evenings she told me that since there were no birds the mission failed and they decided to hide from the boys instead. On Wednesday the mission was to race to the gate. She said she was the leader and the girls follow her in a straight line.
Wednesday Sofia was very excited telling about the computer class with many computers and a cool white board, and the visit to the library and story time. Last Friday she was sad that we had forgotten to bring show and tell (class was only for 2 hours and I thought they would start show and tell the following week).
Dance at PMD started this week, the girls love their new dance outfit.

our first sleep over

Point Sebago Maine - July 2010
Point Sabego foi um trip muito bom. Ficamos 5 dias numa casa de praia. O resort tem muitas atividades o dia todo: Including nightly shows for kids, day camps, carnaval, firework, bomb fire, Ceramics, hayride, various water activities, day camp… It was very hot todos os dias.
